Using Zoom with a Smartphone

If you are using a smartphone, and using Zoom for the first time, it is recommended (but not required) that you download the “Zoom” App, and also try to get into the “Zoom Room” or Waiting Room 10-15 minutes before class starts, incase you have any technical difficulties.

To install the Zoom App:

Once you have installed Zoom, you may choose to sign in. Signing in is optional

To login to a zoom class:

The following instructions are guidelines either from your Zoom app, or from the zoom web client (www.zoom.us). Please note, you will have a better classroom experience from the Zoom App, There are less features available from attending a Zoom class from your web browser.

1. Find your Meeting ID OR click on the Invitation Link.

Every ZOOM class has a Meeting ID. Many classes have a password as well. You may have received a Zoom Link, or you may have received the Meeting ID and password, if a password is needed.

If you received a Zoom link, click on the ZOOM meeting link you received.

If you received a Meeting ID and password, enter the Meeting ID and password on the Zoom App or at http://www.zoom.us.

2. Enter your name, if you choose

You will then have the option to enter your name before you enter the room. Do enter your name if you are comfortable doing so.

3. Join Audio

You will have the option to Join Audio and Video. You must join Audio and Video in order to hear, speak, and be seen. You can remain mute and keep your camera off.

Note: Your video is off if you see “Start Video”. Your video is ON if you see “Stop Video”.  Your audio is OFF if you see the option to “unmute” Your audio is ON if you SEE the option to “mute.”

4. Use the Chat Function

If you have questions or problems, use the CHAT option or “RAISE HAND” to be unmuted by the host.

5. Turn on your volume

Make sure your device volume is on so you can hear the guided meditation.
